Questions About How to Book a Pony Party

Q: How do we book a party?

A: The best way to contact us is by phone (225) 301-0515. Please book as early as possible because we also operate a carriage livery service and especially in the Spring when most weddings are held, we can get very busy. At the minimum, please book at least two weeks in advance.

Q: What about a deposit?

A: We do require a $100.00 non-refuldable deposit to reserve a date all private parties. If a party is cancelled with at least 24 hours notice due to weather  or and Act of God, and cannot not be rescheduled, $25 of the deposit will be refunded, otherwise deposits are non-refundable

Q. What about payment of the balance due?

The balance due for the party is payable in cash or by money order when we arrive at your location for the party.
Q: What areas do you serve?

A: We serve greater Baton Rouge, the Felicianas and surrounding areas, including southwest Mississippi (Woodville, Centerville and Liberty areas). We will travel up to 40 road miles from Clinton, LA to provide ponies for your party or event.

Q: How do you do the pony rides?

A: We hand lead the riding ponies in the designated area. If you choose to have a cart pony for rides, we will drive the pony in a safe area that is free of traffic. We do not provide helmets or require that they be worn. If you have concerns about needing helmets for your child and guest children, you can usually purchase a couple of basic helmets at Tractor Supply, the Co-op or a western store.

Q: When do you arrive?

A:We arrive 30 to 45 minutes prior to the announced beginning of your party to allow us time to ready the pony or ponies.rYou are n

Black Beauty is 11 hands or 44 inches tall at the withers (top of shoulder). He will accept riders that are 80 lbs or less. We have added two additional ponies to our farm, and they should be ready for parties by November.

                    Party Questions and Answers
Q: What happens if it rains on the day of my party?
A: Usually on days when rain is predicted, if the children and guests are advised ahead of time that they will be attending an "outside" party, they will dress appropriately for the possible inclement weather. (Rain coats, boots, etc.) We will stop the rides in event of lightning, hail, etc. where safety was an issue.

If you decide to cancel your party, we require verbal notification at least 4 hours before your party's scheduled start time. If we arrive  to perform your party and you decide to cancel or reschedule upon our arrival, or during the party, etc. remainder of your payment for the party is still required.

Q: We have our yard fertilized and sprayed for pests, will that be a problem?
A: Yes, ponies cannot work on any area that has been chemically treated (fertilizer or insecticide) within the past 7 days before your party because of the danger of the ponies being poisoned by these chemicals.

Q: What about fire ants?
A: Please insure the set up area for the ponies is free of ant mounds, bee hives, wasp nests, etc. We cannot set up in areas where insect bites or stings are likely. This is dangerous for the ponies and their riders.
Also, it is best to insure the area used for the rides is free of holes, dog or animal feces, glass, trash, etc.

Q: Will dogs bother the ponies?
A: Please keep all dogs inside or put away for the duration of the event. If there is a loose dog, the pony will be stopped until the dog is put away. Excited dogs charging the pony, nipping the pony's heels, etc. ARE a SERIOUS safety hazard. This is for the safety of the children, the pony and the dog.
Q: Do is there a limit on how many people I can invite?
No, we do not tell you how many guests you can invite, but only invited guests may ride the pony.

Q: What happens if the pony goes to the bathroom during the party?
A: We clean up after the pony or ponies during and after the party.

Q: We have a pool that takes up most of the back yard, where can we do pony rides?
A: We can perform pony rides just about anywhere as long as the surface is level, non-slippery and not comprised of loose gravel or stones. For pony rides we can use driveways, sidewalks, quiet streets, yards, or neighborhood parks.
Q: Is it okay of we have a pool party at the same time?
A: Yes, however it is safer if children are wearing closed toe shoes or boots around the ponies. Some children's legs become chapped brom rubbing against the saddle, so long pants may be advisable if a child has sensitive or delicate skin.
If you have inflatable space walks or water slides we ask that there is safe distance between the inflatables and the ponies.

For older children, we have access to a slightly larger horse named Highlander shown here modeling our very fancy saddle pad with hundreds of crystals and small bells as well as tassels. Highlander can carry older children and adults who weigh up to 160 lbs.
